Tofel Dent Construction Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary
The Tofel Dent team recently celebrated 40 years of excellence with a company retreat weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona. Founded in 1984 right here in Arizona, Tofel Dent Construction marked this milestone with a series of memorable events that brought together employees, their families, and key partners in the development and affordable housing community.
The weekend kicked off on Friday, January 10, with a plated dinner at Talking Stick Resort and Casino. Guests included Tofel Dent staff and some of our esteemed partners. The evening began with a social hour and mixer, where attendees enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres and appetizers in a relaxed atmosphere.
During the dinner, Managing Members Jim Tofel and Dave Dent delivered a heartfelt joint address, highlighting the company’s journey, current construction projects, and vision for the future. They also took the opportunity to recognize the following long-term employees who have dedicated over 20 years to the company:

A highlight of the evening was the keynote speech by distinguished guest Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill. His inspiring address focused on resilience, teamwork, perseverance, and motivation, leaving the audience captivated. The speech concluded with a standing ovation, a testament to its powerful message.
To add to the festivities, a prize giveaway took place, with employees winning exciting items such as rolling YETI hard-side coolers, Beats earbuds and speakers, Carhartt gear, Amazon Echo devices, gift cards, and more.
On Saturday afternoon, the celebration continued at Topgolf Scottsdale with a family-friendly lunch next door to the resort. Attendees enjoyed yard games, golfing, and a delicious fajita buffet. The atmosphere was lively with friendly competition, allowing everyone to relax and connect outside of the usual work setting.
The weekend was a resounding success, earning glowing reviews from attendees who appreciated the opportunity to step away from the office and field to celebrate this landmark milestone. It was a fitting tribute to 40 years of accomplishments and another successful year at Tofel Dent Construction.
