The Tofel Dent was proud to celebrate the grand opening of our recently completed project in Socorro, New Mexico: Vista de Socorro Apartments. This 23,194-square-foot property includes 32 units of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) multifamily housing.

We extend our sincere congratulations to the entire project team—JL Gray Company, Integrated Design, Ethos Development, El Camino Real Housing Authority, and our dedicated on-site crew—whose hard work made this development possible. We were honored to be joined at the ribbon cutting by representatives from Housing New Mexico, who celebrated this milestone alongside us.

Special thanks to our Managing Member of Development, Jim Tofel, and Vice President, Jim Kurtzman, for traveling from Arizona to attend. We also want to thank JL Gray Company for graciously hosting the Grand Opening Ceremony.

Construction began in spring 2024 and wrapped up just last month. The grand opening event was more than a celebration of completion—it was a meaningful opportunity for stakeholders, local leaders, and housing advocates to connect, share insights, and show support for expanding affordable housing in New Mexico. Notable attendees included Jeff Curry, Director of Development at JL Gray, and Socorro Mayor Ravi Bhasker.

This property includes 24 one-bedroom one-bath units and 8 two-bedroom one-bath units. Of the 32 total units, seven units are reserved for households experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness, or living with a disability.

Vista de Socorro is one of 51 multifamily projects currently in various stages of construction across the state of New Mexico, representing a total of 4,882 units in 14 counties (Source: Housing New Mexico). We’re proud to mark this milestone and look forward to the lasting impact Vista de Socorro will have on the Socorro community.
